They were booked to sit for a neighbor, with a few days overlapping. Johanne stayed in our house and Doug stayed at the other house for three days. They are very adaptable. Consider having them as your sitter on your next vacation.

Jan is a great host! Not only did she make sure I had everything needed for the sit, she went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and enjoyed my stay. Her home is as welcoming as she is. I was very comfortable. We got to spend some time together before and after the sit, and had a lovely time. Then there's the star of the house sit, Dulce! She is so sweet and adorable. What a full cultural experience it was to housesit for Carlos recently for the month of August. His lovely four-bedroom house in the Historic Centre matches the beauty of Puebla, a designated UNESCO World Heritage site. The location is great, close to everything you need including many tourist spots, while being in a very quiet neighborhood. The location is great, close to everything you need including many tourist spots, while being in a very quiet neighborhood. As an artist, I enjoyed the artwork, paintings, ceramic sculptures, furniture, textiles, and porcelain dishes. I came in a couple of days early to meet Juanita and Chui, his two small dogs, and get the lay of the land. Carlos is an excellent host, showing me the food markets nearby, preparing simple but meaningful meals often accompanied by his Opera singing and sometimes his friends. Yes, he is a professional singer. He is very social and has a brilliant mind with a love for people. By the time he left for his trip, I knew where the banks were located, best restaurants, galleries, interesting stores, massage/spa, internet service/assistance, had water in stock and a Doctor if needed. In the evenings when there was a short rainstorm, I left the metal doors/windows open to the courtyard and listened to music while reading a book. The courtyard has all kinds of beautiful flowers that I photographed. Watering a handful of plants was very easy. His home is an easy 15 minute walk to the Spanish Institute in Puebla in the Historic District where I took immersion language classes for three weeks. The walk home was filled with lunch, shopping, museums and churches. The dogs are very easy to love and care for. They walk once a day however I walked them more often as I like the exercise and so did they. Feeding and watering them is easy. I am returning in February for another housesit. We very highly recommend Jose Luis! His English is better than our Spanish and he uses a translation app proficiently to make sure all communication is clear. Jose left our home cleaner than any other pet sitter ever has. He is extremely quiet and respectful and he has his own vehicle. He was very good with our two precious cats! They both seemed to like him very much and he was very affectionate with them as well. He was very good about cleaning their litter box, he checked it many times per... Continue Reading

The view from the terrace is breathtaking! The location is great, close to everything you need and many tourist spots, while being in a very quiet neighborhood. X Gloria and her beautiful pet "Bella" were a pleasant experience for me; from the first contact, when we met, she showed a warmth and closeness that I had not experienced before, smiling, polite and eager to understand my strange way of speaking English. Her house is beautiful and very well maintained with an impressive view of the Chapala lagoon, her terrace and garden are very cozy and beautiful. Bella, her loving and veteran German shepherd, accompanied me daily on my walks in the hills... both of them walking slowly and calmly (I am also a 69-year-old veteran). I loved the quietness of the place, a situation that invited me to practice my current hobby "painting" and I had an incredible time. When Gloria returned, she was equally happy and simple, very correct and kind. I recommend Gloria with great affection, I would love to take care of her house again and of course Bella.

Jose Luis was such a delight. Such a positive person benefitting my dog, as well as, myself. A native speaker to speak to your household help and from Guadalajara knowing more about the area than I did after living here for 19 years. My dog and home were if perfect condition.
