James and Elly were beyond great in every way. Our 2 cats were calm and very happy when we got home. Elly sent a report and cute pictures every day. Our house was clean and everything in great shape when we got home. They were easy and fun to communicate with and very pleasant people. We would 100% recommend them to others. We would have them come to take care of Max and Zara every time we left if they were available.

Dean and Mark have a lovely home near Centro. They were very warm and inviting and great communicators. I had all the information I needed for a successful sit plus their guest room was very comfortable. Dean was nice to pick me up from one sit and drop me off at the bus station for my next trip which was greatly appreciated. William and Lolita were well behaved kitties and easy to care for. I couldn't have had a better experience for being my maiden voyage as a sitter. Zeke, though, looks like a moose is truly a huge teddy bear. Beautiful, comfortable, and relaxing home with so much within walking distance. Otherwise, the convenient bus stop across the street from the property allows you to easily access the rest of the city. Wonderful at fixing things if something breaks. clean and just amazing in every way did I say that already? 🙂 . You will not be disappointed if you choose them to housesit for you. I highly recommend them and if you had a 10 star rating they would get it. They showed up in their own car carefully packed and ready for anything! I was SO IMPRESSED. Toni was absolutely fantastic! She took excellent care of my three dogs even through a hurricane and extended power outages and just rolled with the punches. My dogs loved her and I couldn't be more grateful for the wonderful job she did. I highly recommend her and would absolutely use her again!

Kris and Ben are just great all-around people. We actually introduced them to HSM when we rented their beach house for a bit while we were between housesits in 2022. Then when Kris’s caretaker decided to retire a year later, she reached out to see if we were available to housesit for a few months until she could get down to Mexico. Then when Kris’s caretaker decided to retire a year later, she reached out to see if we were available to housesit for a few months until she could get down to Mexico. Of course, we jumped at the opportunity, and she was flexible on dates as we were finishing up another housesit. The house in Mahahual is awesome. Maybe 30 ft from the edge of the Caribbean to the huge back screened porch. It looks just like her photos. But now she has fixed up the casita which is as cute as can be and so Beachy in its decor and that’s where Housesitters stay as occasionally she rents the big house on Air BB. The casita is a few more feet from the ocean but still has an amazing ocean view from the living room. It has a full kitchen with new appliances and new AC. Kris is great at communicating. She and I still keep in touch a lot. We wanted to go do the housesit she posted for summer 2024, but we were already committed to another housesit. When we were there, Robert had the best time catching huge fish from the beach and the sea kayaks are great to paddle around the bay. Even when sargasso washed in now and then in August or September, the beach on one side of the house or the other was always clear to get in the water(depending on if the wind was blowing from NE or SE.). So don’t let the QRoo reports of sargasso scare you away. Definitely try to have a car as the house is 20 minute drive from town and taxis are hard to come by out the beach road. But there is a great little hotel restaurant a mile or two further north if you don’t want to cook and there are neighbors around on both sides usually, so you aren’t out there by yourself. We met a lot of great people via the neighborhood WhatsApp group and it’s also a great source for info if you need something. But Kris is always available via WhatsApp too. The house and casita have a solar system with battery backup so you don’t have to deal with electrical outages. They have starlink sat. Wifi that works great. We hope to get to housesit for them again in 2025.

Robin & Martin Were great Housesitters and I so appreciated the care they showed for our property. The kitty that has adopted us and the neighbors dog that loves us to were very loved by them. Dicey the dog that visits us cried for 2 days after they left which I had never seen him do before. Martin did excellent with my pool as well which I appreciate very much. Rick stayed with us in the Fall of 2023 and watched our place for 5 weeks. He is very handy at fixing things which was helpful when something goes wrong and I very much appreciated. Cared for the pool and was good with the visiting Kitty and dog who are not ours but seem to have adopted us. Good at communication. We would have Rick back again forsure Kris & Ben

Had a wonderful stay with Lia's six cats. They were all wonderful indoor cats who were friendly, sweet and easy too care for. Her house is in a great location for access to downtown Playa and the beach. And it's only a block away from the grocery store. House included a pool. Lia was so kind to let me stay a few extra days, especially during a passing hurricane. I also enjoyed helping her with animal rescue as that's what I've done back in the States. I hope to see the cats and Lia again.
