We enjoyed caring for Shawn and Laura's beautiful home and their sweet cat, Rasha. Shawn and Laura were the first people to give us a chance to house sit in Mexico. Our experience could not have been better. They were very communicative right from the start. We had several back-and-forth emails with questions and zoom calls to get to know each other and the task at hand. They told us about many interesting things to do like hikes, beaches, local attractions, where to buy groceries, where to eat, etc. By the time we arrived in Manzanillo we felt totally at ease. They picked us up from the bus station and took us to dinner before heading to their home. Their home is located outside of town in a gated community and we felt very comfortable and totally safe. The outside patio and pool were a restful oasis. It was so peaceful that you could even hear the waves crashing at the nearby beach. We rented a car and had no issues getting to the grocery stores, visiting sites in town, going to restaurants and even took a few longer trips to other towns. Rasha was so easy to care for, spending most of her time outside and only needing food and water. She seemed to be at ease with us right away and came around often for pets and scratches. Johanne and Doug were FABULOUS house sitters!!! They house-sat for me for almost a month. They were very professional. They gave my 2 older cats lots of love and attention!
