We had the pleasure of caring for her three wonderful dogs—Boxa, Bella, and Gus—during our stay from March 6 to April 6, 2025, and can confidently say this is a great place for anyone seeking a genuine Mexican experience. The house is located in the quaint Mision del Carmen neighborhood, which offers an intimate feel of local life, with friendly lower and mid-income Spanish speaking Mexican families. Within just a couple of blocks, you’ll find a variety of authentic Mexican restaurants and convenient stores, making it easy to get a taste of local culture and cuisine. For those who need to shop, Walmart is about a 20 to 25-minute walk away, or you can hop in a taxi for a short ride. While the city center and beach are about an hour’s walk, they are easily accessible by a 50 Peso taxi ride, giving you the best of both worlds—quiet, residential living with quick access to the more tourist-heavy areas when desired. Becky herself was a pleasure to communicate with—always friendly and easygoing. She stayed in touch via WhatsApp throughout our stay, making sure everything was going smoothly. If you’re looking for a housesitting opportunity that lets you dive into the heart of traditional Mexican life while enjoying the company of three adorable dogs, this is the perfect fit. The best! Chris and Ed arrived a few days early at my request. We wanted our dog to get comfortable with them. Within hours we could see it was a great match. Our dog adored them. Of course they spoiled her just as we do! I never worried while we were away. We came home to a happy dog and the house in perfect shape. Perhaps best of all we made new friends. The best! I have only praise for these two. Our dog loved them and they took excellent care of our house. Perhaps best of all.we made new friends! I am rather nervous about leaving our dog as she is quite an anxious dog. Chris and Ed arrived a few days before we left...at my request. After 1 day I felt totally at ease leaving our "girl". We just completed a 4 week stay at Julie's with precious Enzo. He is such a love bug! This was a comfortable home in a very quiet small gated community with easy access to shopping and needs. We had the use of Julie's little car which was very helpful for grocery shopping and taking Enzo to his play-days at Doggie Day Care from time to time. I would suggest this sit to anyone.

Emma and Barry house sat for me for a week and took care of my cats. They were very reliable in returning messages and we met beforehand at my house. My animals were very attracted and affectionate with them on their visit which showed me their rapport with animals. They sent me daily updates and videos with optional responses from me. On return my house was immaculate and my cats happy and content. I am already looking to book them for another house sit later this year. Very happy.

X We first met Michael and Janie back in September of 2024 when we house sat for them for a week and cared for their great cat Jasper. Michael and Janie are very warm and considerate persons, who made it a point to make sure we were comfortable in their house during our stay. We shared a day with them prior to their departure and enjoyed a great dinner together at a small, historical bar and restaurant near their home, El Manatial. In the short time we spent with them, we feel like we became friends. Their house was spectacular, and the accommodations for our stay were very, very nice. The house is in a great location of San Miguel, within easy walking distance of all the best neighborhoods and San Miguel's Jardin center of town. Taking care of Jasper was a highlight of our stay as he is a very smart and friendly cat, who gave us lots of love during our stay. We were sorry to say good bye to him when we left after that week in September. But hey, we were invited back in January of this year, 2025 to do a repeat sit for them and a little longer stay. So we reunited with our friends Michael and Janie, and yes another couple of weeks with our great friend and cat, Jasper. Everything went perfect once again. The neighborhood is one of our personal favorites in SMA with an abundance of restaurants and cafes a street away and Centro just a short 20 minute stroll. We had great communication with Lorna in the lead up, during and after our stay. Lorna provided informative instructions for the home and her felines Ella and Satchmo. We felt very comfortable and equipped to care for her fur family. Vanilla was taken on the road trip this time so we missed out on enjoying Vanilla's energetic character, however, we look forward to caring for Vanilla in our next house sit. A heartfelt thank you, Lorna, for having us stay in your beautiful home and look after your darlings. We look forward to catching up soon.

The house is pure luxury and beautifully and tastefully decorated, with everything you could wish for (we almost felt like we were in an episode of Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous ?). But the real highlight was of course the three Js: Jasper, Josie and Jack! Three wonderful cats, each with very different characters: the chilled Jasper with his cuddly fur, Josie, who likes to have her me(ow)-time but then joins us for movie night every time, and Jack, who takes every heart by storm with his juvenile nature. In addition, Dan and Scott are fantastic hosts - organized, communicative and simply super nice. They prepared everything perfectly for us and were always available if we had any questions (which was rare because everything was so well explained in the manual). It was also really nice to have dinner together on the first and last evening and get to know each other better. They are really a lovely couple! All in all, it was a wonderful experience that we won't forget. We will try to come again as soon as we can. Thank you for your trust - and please give the three J's a big hug from us! ??

Although it was a very brief stay catsitting for me for 4 days, it was a joy to have Renee as my catsitter. She was very attentive to my cat, Hazel, needs, kept my place spotless and was very communicative with me. Unexpectedly, the landlords of my place had to do some immediate construction work right next door to my place causing a huge disruption. It’s interesting how one chooses to select a house sitter. As always, we received excellent candidates. But what sold us on Rick was a review of his said that Rick had stopped a dog from barking. With 4 barkers in our casa, we hoped Rick could perform his magic. Success! As if that wasn’t enough, Rick wrestled with some plumbing and electrical issues. Plan ahead as Rick is too popular!

X My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our housesit for Jon and Stacy and caring for Harkin and Obi was an absolute joy. Jon and Stacy gave us the opportunity to stay in their beautiful casita on the property prior to the beginning of the sit and were very welcoming and helpful. This allowed us to learn Harkin and Obi's routines and get to know them which can reduce possible anxiety. A helpful welcome guide was provided beforehand along with other detailed instructions. Jon and Stacy's home is gorgeous, built using unique craftsmanship including many recycled materials within the stonework. Stacy has done a wonderful job decorating as well. There is a terrace on the top level we could use anytime with magnificent views of the city and comfortable furniture. The cleaning lady and the gardener are very friendly and the entire property is immaculate. The plants and flowers in the garden add to the beauty of the setting. The casita where we stayed was extremely comfortable and felt like "home" to us. There is a lot of natural light in the main living space and we regulated the temperature with the mini-split to take the chill off in the mornings. The kitchen has everything you need to cook including an Instant Pot, air fryer, and espresso machine...luxuries you don't find everywhere in Mexico. An extra plus is the water is triple filtered so you can drink right out of the tap! When we asked Stacy or Jon if we could borrow something, they were happy to bring it over. They were very responsive to our questions before and during the sit and we appreciated the consistent communication. Harkin and Obi are the best dogs we've had the pleasure to care for out of the 20+ sits we have completed. They are the best of friends and play well together, yet are so very different in personality. Harkin LOVES to play ball and has such a sweet temperament. He is a little more subdued than his brother and enjoys quiet time, slipping off to rest beside the chair. Obi is all about love and affection and is a bit of a clutz. We had so many laughs watching his antics, especially when he jumped in the air and twirled around trying to catch the ball. Both dogs stole our hearts within hours and we loved that they came through the doggy door to visit before mom and dad left for their trip. Harkin and Obi are not allowed on the furniture in the casita and do not eat table food and they are very obedient about these rules. They are well-behaved and trained dogs and go right in their crate when it's time for bed or before we left the house. Harkin is afraid of loud noises such as fireworks or storms and Obi is so sweet to comfort him and stay by his side. They make it feel like you aren't even doing a sit because they're so much fun! We have already completed a couple of sits for Jon and Stacy and have another one scheduled. They provided several recommendations in the area including restaurants and doctors. When we traveled between sits, they allowed us to leave some things at their house. If we needed anything, Jon and Stacy were happy to help. Their hospitality is unmatched as is the accomodation in their casita. Harkin and Obi have our hearts and we miss them already. We feel blessed to have the opportunity to know all four of them!
