They all brought so much joy to the housesit. The house is situated in a safe and convenient location, but my favourite aspect was the terrace and the beautiful view. I am grateful to Peggy for giving me my first opportunity to house/pet-sit and for sharing her beautiful home and sweet pets with me. My boyfriend and I house and dog sat for Michelle in May 2025 for almost 3 weeks. I can honestly say that it was an absolute pleasure! She was easy to walk and was very patient as she waited for us to get ready to go out. I worked remotely while I was there. I have loads of Teams meetings and often worry about bandwidth. But the wifi was a dream. There were 2 or 3 times in my first few days where the power went off and then back on again about 2 minutes later. The area where the house is located is within walking distance or close to restaurants and stores. I would most definitely sit for Michelle and Sophia again sometime. My Spanish, while still needing work, improved with use and I learned so much more about life at Lake Chapala. There were even a couple of great rainstorms to cool us off from May's hot weather. Monica was a wonderful pet-sitter! She stayed with my 6 fur babies and was an excellent communicator and from the beginning until the end bonded with each and every animal with love and affection. The property is beautiful and clearly cared for with great attention — beautifully maintained and thoughtfully designed, with systems in place that made the responsibilities easier to manage. Tiffany and Leif are amazing! Our two dogs and cat asked us to leave again so they can come back and spoil them. The plants looked healthier and the house, especially the kitchen, was cleaner and better organized. We received Proof of Life photos at least every other day and they gladly took on a few extra chores. All this and really nice, fun people, I hope to have as friends for a long time. YOU CAN'T DO BETTER THAN TIFFANY & LEIF!

Colonia Guadalupe, where Janet lives is a fascinating neighborhood with colorful murals that are quite amazing. Grocery store, and vegetarian shop are nearby, as well as great bus and taxi service. Once Dolly had morning care and walks, I was free to explore San Miguel. The historic center is only about a 15-20 minute walk. We are so pleased that Edward was able to look after our chickens and guests at our small hotel. He is personable, solves problems (no hot water) and speaks fluent Spanish. He looked after paying our staff, setting door codes for new guests and helping them how to get to centro etc.

The housesit involved looking after Miss Honey and a young kitten with special needs, named Miss Lizzie. Becca and Caire ensured that we were armed with all of the necessary contact details of vets, landlord etc in the event of any issues that may arise. Also kitteh care, feeding needs, routines, local services, restaurants to eat at (and a couple to avoid!) Claire and Becca's home is in Centro Patzcuaro and is walkable to most locations in the Centro area. The Mercado is nearby, also the plaza, really good restaurants and street food vendors are all within a stones throw. Rest assured, despite being in the Centro area, the house is still very quiet and safe. Kirsty' s cats were afraid at the beginning when Ariel and I arrived their house. I know that's normal, but I called them with love and they quickly got used to me and tried to stay by me most of the time. The house is so great, 2 blocks from 5th avenue and 2 blocks from Mamita's beach. The neighborhood is very nice. Kirsty is great, so sweet and nice. We would like to sitting her apartment when she's traveling again.
