Tulia and her partner, Luz, came to house sit for me for three weeks during June-July 2019 in Mexico City. We were able to meet ahead of time, and I immediately felt they would be great. They were! They took excellent care of three dogs plus one cat; the house was in fantastic shape when I returned, and they kept me updated on everything. I would have them back in a heartbeat!

We house sat for Erica and Jim for three weeks in July 2019 and loved it! Their home is absolutely beautiful, in a safe and comfortable country club environment with a pool and tennis courts. It was a delight having Eric and Mimi house sit and take care of my sweet but highly independent cat, Kiki. They were here for six weeks and left everything in perfect order. Kiki doesn't say much but I can tell he was a happy camper during their stay. Susan and Jim Turpin were excellent house sitters. Our two dogs and cat were happy when we arrived and Susan did take good care of them. She walked the dogs regularly. We had a bit of a challenge with our next door neighbor about a construction issue while we were gone. Thanks to Susan's excellent Spanish she was able to communicate our needs very well to the contractor. The good news is that we were both available by Facebook Messenger and email and it made communication very effective.

This was an enjoyable House Sit with Karen's secure home located in a private gated community on Rio Bravo in Ajijic, Mx. Her Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named (Oreo) was the sweetest dog needing a lot of affection as did her beautiful two cats Moggie and Fez. They were a joy to take care of and anyone asked to Home Sit for Karen will be delighted.

Rachel and her four pups was our first house sit. She had sitters previously, so she was very patient explaining to us how to feed the dogs and the fish in her pond. We also fed a hungry mob of hummingbirds while there. Her house is high on a hill with a terrific view of Lake Chapala and a park-like setting. As an added bonus, I was able to finish reading three of Rachel's novels while staying there. There are two electric gates securing the property, and we never locked the doors or windows at night. We felt completely safe. Rachel asked us back to sit again, but we had doctor's appointments planned and had to decline. Someone else is going to enjoy a really nice stay there. We have only had one night out of two months where a noisy party at the clubhouse continued past our bedtime and it shut down fairly quickly. The gated community has an actual police officer from the Municipio de Chapala who keeps a vigilant eye on everything. Workers left our neighbor's garage gate wide open and we called security to check on it. Mr. Policeman was right there with his sub-machine gun to check things out. This is another place where we sleep with the windows and doors wide open. By the way, we have had no security issues anywhere in Mexico. I actually feel safer here than our home in Las Vegas. You can get by here without speaking Spanish, but life is much more fun if you do. Great restaurants abound of every cuisine. Be sure to pick up copies of the local mag and newspaper to discover lots of fun activities. The Lake Chapala Society is a great organization to check out. This is an almost new, super clean casa. Cleaning lady and gardener come once a week and pool guy comes twice a week, Sally is easy to care for and so sweet. For those of you thinking about moving to the Lakeside area, I highly recommend house sitting as a way to learn about the different areas.Ray & Rose housesitter July 18, 2019
