She showed us around town and even stayed elsewhere for a few days so that we could acclimate to her animals with her still close enough to help if needed. We really appreciated it! Communication flowed very well even as she traveled overseas, which was very helpful as we ended up having to take two animals to the vet during our stay. Even that was very easy. Her vet is kind and effective and has someone who speaks English working with him. Kelleen currently has 4 dogs and 5 cats and they are all sweet and full of personality. Dags, one of her Australian Shepherds, has the most soleful eyes, and Toby, a chihuahua mix, is always up for cuddles. Lily is a sweet old lady with arthritis and she was my daughter's favorite, as Lily is very appreciative of belly scratches. Kota is also a sweetie and they quickly welcomed us into their "pack." The cats were also sweeties. Marnie lives on top of the kitchen cabinets, and the rest are outdoors a lot during the day. It was always neat how they would come in at night when called. We'd never been to Puerto Penasco before, but we found it welcoming with lots of places to swim in the high heat and humidity of August.

The alarm system added a sense of security - the area (as of this writing) is still growing with new-home construction, and not densely populated. The elevation is flat, streets of cobblestone. The neighboring property has a full-time caretaker (Jose) who kept an eye out for me and was a handy resource for questions or concerns. The walk to Wal-mart is 15 minutes - neighborhood tiendas are closer. Fine and casual dining can also be reached on foot. Public transit is a level 2 block walk - less than 5 min. Buses serving multiple routes pick-up riders (on both sides of the road ) to head east or west - the wait times are not long at this stop. There is a heated pool, covered patio with comfy furniture, good (filtered) hot and cold water. I did not use the A/C since ceiling fans sufficed. The area gets nice breeze from all directions. The HOSTS: Gene and Chiemi keep a lovely home, with nice things. They were reliable and followed thru with all plans that we made in advance. I felt they had reasonable expectations of me and that they were great communicators. Written instructions at the home were thorough and organized. The amount of communication was just right - touching base occasionally, with more frequent exchanges if (either one of us) had a specific item of concern. Even while they were on the go, responses were prompt when I reached out. Our exchanges were mainly via text and email. When unexpected issues arose, they reacted calmy from afar, and we dealt with them together. They allowed me to choose the course of action when that seemed the best approach. I enjoyed this opportunity to spend a little time in paradise - Gene and Chiemi heaven!

All we can say is \'Wow!\' Dawn is professional, detail-oriented, and absolutely trustworthy! Dawn took care of our newly-constructed house for the nearly six weeks we were away. During our absence, she oversaw subcontractors working their way through a punch list, the delivery of a car we bought, the installation of our solar panel system as well as the solar heat for our pool, monitored meter readings, kept track of the pool service and housekeeper...everything! We are so pleased with Natalie & Marty. They are a delightful couple and it is no wonder why they have many friends here in Ajijic. Upon return, we found our home in immaculate shape. Natalie had made some fabulous split pea soup which was much appreciated on our 9:00 PM arrival home, as well as the next day. They also took good care of some unexpected ongoing construction issues and had even washed our car. Highest possible recommendation.

It was our pleasure to stay in Judy’s beautiful home and care for her wonderful dog Coco! She is a little shy at first, but in no time Coco warmed up to us. She is a great dog and very well behaved. Without coaxing, followed me to bed and got in her crate for the night. She loves playing fetch and getting brushed! Judy’s home is amazing and filled with beautiful paintings that she has done. The neighborhood is very safe and Judy’s house very secure. Both the maid and gardener are very nice people. This was our first trip to San Miguel and we loved it. What a beautiful city! Taxis are everywhere and inexpensive. There is Uber, but found them to be a little slow. Busses are easy to figure out. We would to sit for Judy and Coco again if the timing was right!

House Sitting for Leo and Gaby was a beautiful experience. Their lovely home is located in Las Salvias mountainside in Ajijic , just a short walk to the main Plaza. You have a breath taking view of Lake Chapala from the main living area, or even a more sensational view from the terrace on the 3rd level. Caring for "Cali" their Belgian Sheppard was a enjoyable bonding experience that was unforgettable. We will always be buddies! Ernest and Vina are wonderful home owners and very sweet people! We had the chance to house and pet sit for them for 2 months and the experience was more than perfect! Their pets, Pearl and Thor are two lovely and easy dogs to take care of! They love playing, having their walks and giving you love while you are in the house. We miss them a lot now! The house is very comfortable and it is located in one of the most beautiful neighbourhoods in Ajijic, with buses or short-distance walks to the city centre and different facilities. The communication with Ernest and Vina was very easy during our stay. We had the opportunity to spend some days with them before they left, so we had all the instructions and information we needed to feel comfortable and at home. We highly recommend house and pet sitting for them! We really hope to have the chance to do it again someday! 🙂

He managed our maids and gardeners, and handled their payment in our absence. There were a number of needed purchases during our trip, he kept all receipts and gave us a detailed accounting when we returned. Our house ended up having some trouble with a leaky roof, and went above and beyond dealing with the workers that had to come and do repairs. They are so warm and friendly that they even got to know our neighbors better than we have. The only downside of having Lu and Mati house and dog sit for us is that I don't know how we'll be able to find anyone in their league if they aren't available the next time we leave town.

They were fantastic. The house was in fine shape and all my animals were here and well. They took several to the vet for different ailments and I am glad I left the emergency money for them to do this. I was just sorry they were gone when I got back so I could say goodbye. Lovely family.

Inge house/cat sat for me this month (August). She often sent me photos of my two cats hanging out looking very happy. She kept me up to date with anything going on at the house.
