This was Cathie and Brian's second time sitting for us in SMA. Our lab Maya was excited to see them again when they arrived for the sit. Everything was great and looked after according to our wishes, just like last time!  During this sit however, there was a bit of a plumbing emergency the *day after we left, due to a broken part in our cystern. They communicated to us immediately, and worked together with an emergency plumber to move around furniture and get it fixed asap. We appreciated th... Continue Reading

Saleem (our cat), was very happy with the attention given to him and we arrived home to a well fed kitty and very clean apartment. Had a very nice time in Guadalajara cat sitting for Heather and Chris, their home was very comfortable, and location was great. We looked after their 15 year old cat, he was no work his best time was finding a lap to sit on.

I absolutely love the area. Boca de Iguanas is quiet with one of the most beautiful and pristine beaches I have seen in Nayarit/Jalisco State and Carl and Tracy's home is absolutely perfect. They have a large space ( with a pool!) in a very private area of the Bay, just a ten minute walk with the pups to the beach. X I absolutely love the area. Boca de Iguanas is quiet with one of the most beautiful and pristine beaches I have seen in Nayarit/Jalisco State and Carl and Tracy's home is absolutely perfect. They have a large space ( with a pool!) in a very private area of the Bay, just a ten minute walk with the pups to the beach. Tracy and Carl are exceptional to communicate with and show so much appreciation for those watching over their home and their pets. We had a few glitches with electricity and internet as there was a hurricane approaching and some issues with CFE ( the electrical provider) that were beyond the control of homeowners. Their staff were amazing, keeping the gardens and pool in pristine condition and offering to stay on site when we were without internet for a few days so that I would feel extra secure. I have made new friends as a result and will take the opportunity if offered again to return to the area. I can't rave enough good things about the pets. The cats are friendly and love cuddling and pretty much mind themselves. They have two adult dogs, Frida and Diego and are loveable and will take all the loves you want to give to them. Frida adores walks and the water at the beach, but Diego, is getting a bit older, and prefers shorter walks around the property. While I was there, they also had two foster pups that I was managing, Pancho and Lefty and I feel in love so much with Pancho, I wanted to adopt him. Sadly, Tracy also is in love with him and will be adding him permanently to their family. I plan to visit as a friend sometime in the near future. The very best part of house sitting, is the connections you can make with amazingly wonderful people. The home is comfortable and a lovely little reprise from the super touristy area I am currently in. La Manzanilla is either a 15 minute bike ride, or Tracy and Carl allowed for me to use their car to go get groceries and get out of the house a few times a week. I Highly recommend this house sit opportunity! It def helps to have some basic spanish, especially during off season, but one can get by with the basics.

Mike and Summer house and pet sat for me for 12 days. I would have them come again in a heartbeat!!! There are 3 dogs, 1 inside cat, 3 feral cats, 2 koi fish and 2 fish ponds with water lillies. The most senior dog needs meds 2x a day, while I was gone they all needed their parasite medications as well. The inside cat had a hairball issue just before I left and needed meds for that. Tracy and Carl are exceptional to communicate with and show so much appreciation for those watching over their home and their pets. We had some trouble with a neighbour and a few glitches with electricity and internet due to my being there immediatly after and before large storms and they were completely understanding that I felt it was best to go home earlier than planned in order to be safe at home in my own place in Rincon de Guayabitos. I can't say enough good things about the pets. The cats are friendly and love cuddling and pretty much mind themselves. They have two adult dogs, Frida and Diego and are loveable and will take all the loves you want to give to them. Frida adores walks and the water at the beach, but Diego, is getting a bit older, and prefers shorter walks around the property. Andrea was new to HouseSitMexico, but our first conversation set me at ease. She is from Jalisco, and someone said the women from Jalisco are strong! Andrea is a talented artist who worked on her illustrations for a chldren's book while she did my housesit. She took my dogs on daily walks, kept me aprised of things on the property, and most importantly of all, sent me continuous photos of my animals as well as the rain on my garden. She is capable, responsible, and communicates the big stuff and the little details of the setting and the critters. She is adaptive, such as when my worker was in an accident, she kept me informed of some schedule changes. Then, I ended up getting COVID while away, and had to delay my return. Andrea again was flexible, and adjusted accordingly to extend her stay. What more could a homeowner ask for? She settled in, seemed to find a rhythm of both housesitting as well as getting her illustrations completed, and I arrived home after a spell of three long flights to a clean house, a hot bowl of soup, and two happy dogs and three purring cats! Happy paws and happy house, I would love to have her housesit again.

David housesat for me for two weeks. Everything went great. He notified me a week before to let me know everything was on track. He also notified me exactly when he would be arriving. The dogs took an instant liking to him, and I left knowing they would be well cared for. One of my dogs stopped eating, and David kept me aware of the situation and took her to the vet. I would highly recommend him. I wanted to hire him again for my next trip over the holidays, but sadly, he was already booked.
