Autumn in San Miguel de Allende!
San Miguel de Allende, Gto, Mexico
If you're reading this, you may already be familiar with the cultural, historical and architectural advantages of San Miguel. However, if you have questions, feel free to ask.
I'm the happy caretaker of two rescues--Benny, a five year old dog of uncertain breed(s), and Mixi (pronounced Mishi), a two year-old male cat recently found in a nearby warehouse. I wasn't sure how it would work out to have a second pet, but shelter for Mixi would be almost impossible to find, so I adopted him. To my great relief, they've made a peaceful transition to sharing a house.
Home is a two bedroom three-story casa that includes a lovely roof for simply enjoying the day, eating or working out. It's located in La Lejona 1, near the two large supermarkets in town. The street is quiet, though my neighbors have dogs and sometimes there can be chorus of barks. There are also the morning sounds of a neighborhood, like my neighbors chatting with each other or sweeping the sidewalks in front of their houses. This is a traditional Mexican Colonia (neighborhood), with 60s-70s era homes, lots of cobblestones and a mix of Mexican and expat residents.
It's well located. Bus stops are within a block or two and they cover many routes because of their proximity to the supermarkets. Since I don't own a car, I walk lot, but in between use buses, ubers, and taxis. I'm a medium-speed walker-- it takes five minutes to get to a grocery store or restaurant, 25 minutes to Parque Juarez (a must-see, especially the artists on Saturdays) and 30-40 minutes to the main square with the Jardin and Parroquia.
BTW, I use MegaCable for internet and haven't had difficulties with speed or overall reliability.

Please be willing to walk Benny once or twice a day for 45 minutes to an hour.
Prior experience with dogs and cats, especially rescue dogs, would be helpful. Benny is mellow, but he came after three years of street dog and shelter life. He has scars on his snout from defending himself. Trust and security are important to him. Sudden moves frighten him. Please know how to approach cautious dogs - slowly, let him approach and sniff you first, don't make direct eye contact and be patient. Snacks help. He's neither dog nor cat-aggressive, He's most happy sniffing the wondrous odors outside the door or sitting on the couch with a human.
Hopefully, you'll enjoy playing with cats. Mixi is an indoor cat and needs play and distraction. He's kind of a scamp and always trys to get into things. He has the spirit of a six-month old kitten. He is loving, loveable, playful, and curious. The latter includes trying to slip out a door so he can explore the great, wide world. I want to be sure the sitter will be attentive to Mixi's whereabouand be sure not to let him out.
I have plants on the roof that need to be watered once a day.

The house will be thoroughly cleaned before your arrival. While you're here, please keep the house neat and clean. I don't have a laundry facility on premises, but I have a reliable, one-day, pick-up and delivery service.Please be willing to walk Benny once or twice a day for 45 minutes to an hour.
