Pet Sit in One of the Most Popular Neighborhoods Outside La Paz
El Centenario, La Paz, BCS, Mexico
We have a comfortable home located approximately 1/2 mile from the bay in the Colony of El Centenario, Baja California Sur, La Paz, Mexico. La Paz is the capital city of the Baja California Sur and retains the vibrant old world charm of Mexico without the tourist madness of someplace like Cabo San Lucas. There are many beaches to explore, swim with whale shark tours, and walking the Malecon in the evenings with the locals to name just a few things.
El Centenario is a small rustic colony with a few small convenience stores, restaurants, fish market, and a fruit stand. It is located approximately 8 miles from the city of La Paz. Walmart is approximately 5 miles away.
Our home is designed in the old Mexican hacienda style with a functioning cupola, a covered Palapa and a heated swimming pool. We have fiber optic cable internet with good download and upload speeds. We are currently remodeling so the photos are a mix of pre- and post-remodeled areas. The remodeling will be completed before the sit.
Currently, our pack consists of two rescue mixed breed dogs from Mexico and a Schipperke puppy. The first dog, Kalia, is five years old, and an absolute joy in our lives. She is injured so we are going to leave her with our veterinarian. Our second dog is Luna, who is one year old and a budding future agility champion. She is extremely high energy and needs LOTS of attention - playing, throwing the ball, etc. The Schipperke, Osito, is a baby at 4 months old at the time of this writing and is very precocious. We are working on potty training him.
ABOUT THIS SIT: You would arrive on May 10, the day before the sit begins, so we can go over everything with you and familiarize you with our house and the area. We will be gone May 11-18 and will not have constant communication ability. Friends of ours will be available to assist if necessary. They will also be checking in with you to ensure everything is going well.
Non-smokers only.
If you are not local you would have to rent a vehicle. I can give you names of persons who rent late model cars for cheaper than the car rental agencies.
The home is a two bedroom, two and 1/2 bathrooms, air conditioning, ceiling fans in bedrooms, swimming pool, covered palapa, beaches, and desert. We have many different varieties of birds if you like birding. It is located approximately 8 miles from the city of La Paz. There are many different tour businesses that offer all sorts of tours in the local area, three different farmers markets, walking along the Malecon overlooking the Bay, and you can walk into the desert from the house.
Plants would need to be watered and the wild birds oranges replaced daily. Humming bird food would be replaced as needed.

Responsibilities
This sit requires you to stay at the house most of the time since there is a puppy involved that cannot be left alone for long and must be supervised around the other dog. Both dogs would need to be crated if the sitter left the house for any reason. I would not expect a sitter to be gone longer than 3 hours a couple of times during the sit.Plants would need to be watered and the wild birds oranges replaced daily. Humming bird food would be replaced as needed.
