I was honoured to have been selected as Pat and Judy’s first-ever house sitter! The hardest part about this sit was having to leave such a tranquil oasis of peace, with the most breathtaking views in all of Ajijic! I spent hours out on the huge terrace, listening to the chorus of birds and gazing out over the lake. Their home is (really) large, comfortable and very well appointed. It was especially a pleasure to be able to drink the (filtered) tap water! While I had some reservation due to the lack of A/C, there were very few days or nights in May that were uncomfortably hot, and none in July. The location is also excellent, in a gated community with 24/7 security, gorgeous gardens and a huge communal pool, all in the heart of Ajijic, but far enough above it that the sounds of the city were almost never an issue. If you’re comfortable navigating cobblestone streets and steep hills on foot, you can be in the town centre in about 15-20 minutes, or in the blink of an eye by car. Nature lovers will be happy to know that the Tepalo hiking trails are right next door. Overall, communication was very good and I felt welcome, secure, and at home in this warm and generous couple’s lovely home!
