Our home is situated in the ideal Ojo de Agua neighborhood. It offers many truly amazing viewpoints of the splendid beauty of San Miguel de Allende and the surrounding countryside.  It is a  lovely and comfortable contemporary home combined with handcrafted Mexican architectural elements: brick boveda ceilings, curved staircases, hand painted murals and wood beamed ceilings, arched doorways, local cantera details, and five fireplaces, all adding to the elegance, beauty and comfort of this fine home.

The home has 3 bedrooms (with fireplaces), a lovely study/office on the ground floor, 3 and 1/2 bathrooms (not counting the housekeeper’s), a center courtyard with fountain, living room, dining room, kitchen, TV sitting room, 4 terraces (one covered with fireplace), and several garden areas. You will also find:

·         Netflix, Amazon Prime, AppleTV, YouTube TV

·         Excellent Internet.

·         Washing Machine and Dryer

·         Full Size Kitchen with everything you need to enjoy a meal at home.

·         Alarm System (Sirce)

·         Gardener: twice a week.

·         Housecleaner: three times a week.

This is the beginning of the rainy season. You may get an afternoon or evening shower.    Highs in the upper 70s or low 80s by 304 in the afternoon.

TRANSPORTATION:

Our location is within walking distance to the center of town.  Note, that the street to our house from Centro (Ojo de Agua) is steep!  Walking down the hill is not too bad. However, unless you are in good shape you will want to take a taxi back to the house.  Taxis are  inexpensive and safe in SMA.

From our House:

·         Walking Distance to the Centro: 20 minutes downhill

·         Walking Distance to Parque Juarez: 12 minutes downhill

·         Driving Distance to Grocery Stores (City Market & La Comer): 8 minutes by car/taxi

·         Driving Distance to the Liverpool Mall: 6 minutes by car/taxi

FIREWORKS/NOISE:

Mornings bring a view of the Paroquia.  You will hear the chimes of the churches throughout the day, and will view beautiful sunsets at night. It is important to know that Mexicans love to celebrate and San Miguel can be noisy especially on holidays (which are many).  Fortunately, this housesit is past the Easter Holidays!

Fireworks are common at night and even early in the morning.  You can view and hear them from our home.  If you are looking for a “quiet” place to stay (which is hard to find in this City) and noise will bother you, you may want to select a different Pet Sit opportunity.

PETS:

You will share the house with our cat, two medium sized dogs and a few small caged bird. The cat will be a little shy (except at food time).

GARDENER:

A gardener works twice a week, several hours each day.  If it does not rain (which would be unusual in July and August) it could be necessary for the house sitter to water the plants on the terrazas on the days the gardner is not here.

We ask that plants in the house be watered at least twice a week.

Street Level:  Plenty of parking

Main Floor:  Terrace, covered patio, kitchen, living room, 1 ½ bathrooms, office.

2nd Floor:  Main Bedroom with bath and shower.  King Bed. Second Bedroom: Queen bed with shower.

3rd Floor:  Queen Bed, bath with shower, firepit and hot tub with magnificant view.

WHAT WE HOPE FOR:

Is someone who will appreciate our animals. and be aware of their needs. Someone willing to water if the soil is dry and there has not been rain.   We do write out information and directions, but the awareness of the house sitter to read the clues is essential for happy animals and plants. I would hope the person(s) who come would find joy in tending the animals and plants.   Our one request is no smoking in the house.  Outside areas are ok.

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Enjoy our pets, providing them with clean water and food and attention.   Watering the outside plants a few times a week may or may not be needed.  Put the garbage outside three times a week (they come early). Water the inside plants several times a week.

All bills will be prepaid.   Nearby neighbors are mostly Mexican. Bilinqual or English speaking neighbors live down the street and we will provide you with contact information in case you have any problem.

This is a home in which you can curl up and stay at home or explore restaurants, stores, tianguis (outdoor markets) and events.  The majority of the community of San Miguel is bilingual; most  have some English and Spanish, and many have other linguas as well.
