I am seeking one trusted, reliable person who understands that this is more than a temporary stay — it is an ongoing home-care relationship built on consistency, care, and mutual trust.

This role includes caring for my home in San Miguel de Allende and providing loving, attentive companionship to my two cats during my absences. My goal is to return to a home that feels secure, peaceful, and well cared for — ideally in the same or even better condition than when I left.

Kitties rule in a beautiful, contemporary 2-bedroom, 2-bath home located in Colonia Guadiana, one of the most peaceful and desirable neighborhoods in San Miguel de Allende, just adjacent to Centro.

The area is quiet, safe, and filled with lovely homes. You can walk within minutes to Parque Juárez, as well as a charming small park right on our street. We are only two blocks from Mercado Sano, the organic market known for artisan crafts, coffee shops, organic cafés, fresh produce, and a lively Saturday market. I have lived in San Miguel for seven years and truly love every minute of being here.

My home is on three levels and offers comfortable, flexible living spaces:

Responsibilities

Home Care & Presence

Live in the home during agreed stays (overnight presence required)

Maintain the security and general well-being of the property
Be a respectful, quiet neighbor and keep good relations in the neighborhood

Monitor utilities and address any emergencies that arise (water, electrical, neighbors, etc.)

Coordinate with housekeeper, gardener, or repair professionals when needed

Comfortable overseeing typical Mexican home systems (tinaco, cistern, water pump, utilities, etc.)


Plant & Property Care

Regular watering and observation of plants and flowers

Notice changes or issues early and communicate promptly

Help maintain the beauty and peaceful energy of the space


Cat Care (Very Important)

Loving daily companionship and presence — this is not just feeding and leaving

Feed, clean litter boxes, and monitor overall well-being

Inform me promptly if supplies are running low or if anything unusual arises

Purchase pet supplies if needed (I reimburse promptly)

Sleep in the home so the cats maintain their normal rhythm and feel secure


Communication

Stay in contact with me throughout the sit via texts, updates, and occasional photos

Notify me about mail, household updates, or anything important

Clear, honest communication is essential


Household Management

Place garbage out for street pickup

Recycle plastics by taking them to the nearby recycling park whenever possible

The Arrangement

Free rent and utilities included (mindful use appreciated)

You cover personal food, personal expenses, and consumable household items you personally use

In exchange for attentive home care, plant care, coordinating repairs as needed, and loving care of two cats

Experienced with Mexican homes (what is a cistern? tinaco? and local systems)

Bilingual and a clear communicator

References required (no friends or family; local references strongly preferred)

Copy of passport and visa (if applicable) or Mexican INE ID required after arrangements are confirmed

Any additional occupants must be declared in the initial application and be registered members with HouseSitMexico

This is about long-term fit, trust, and continuity — not urgency. I am hoping to find someone who truly LOVES KITTIES and would enjoy repeating this unique experience in San Miguel de Allende throughout the year.
