San Miguel de Allende! A Magical Unesco World Heritage Site

San Miguel de Allende, Gto, Mexico

Enjoy 20 days in beautiful San Miguel de Allende, an Unesco world heritage site.

My home is perfect for one person, a couple, or two friends.  It's comfortable, has a serene quality and has everything you need to enjoy your stay in San Miguel. I'm an artist, so my home is filled with art  and colorful design to add to your overall experience. The location is great with friendly neighbors - easy walking to the Centro Historico - Jardin (central Plaza) shopping, Parque Juarez, restaurants, etc.

This is a 3 story home plus a lovely rooftop deck. As. you enter on the ground Floor, there is a garden view sitting area which doubles as a guest room. There's a 1 bedroom with queen bed and full bathroom  The Second Floor is the living, dining, kitchen, TV area. (Plus Washer/Dryer and half bath)

Third Floor: Artist Studio.

Top: Beautiful Rooftop deck, garden and a glassed en casita.

There are interior stairs from the downstairs bedroom to the 2nd floor living area. But also exterior stairs from downstairs patio to living area if you don't want guests going thru the bedroom. There are stairs to the 3rd floor artist studio and a spacious spiral stairwell to the rooftop deck. It has a glass enclosed rooftop space - which is really lovely place to hang out with the tree tops and birds and a great view of the Parrocchia and the surrounding city.

I have one cat, Ginger, who needs to be fed, brushed occasionally and given some affection. She uses an outdoor space on the patio, so no need to clean a litter box. She's not vocal and is easy to take care of. She is very affectionate - everyone falls in love with her!

The house has good fiber optics internet via Telmex.

San Miguel can get cold in the winter, nights and early mornings,,especially inside the home. Heating is important! I have a good Rinnai heater in the living/dining/kitchen area. A gas fireplace in the living area. An electric blanket on the bed and a gas heater to warm up the bedroom. (Not safe to sleep with it on!) You will be cozy here.

Taxis go by my house all the time, or you can call one easily.  There is also Uber. I walk most everywhere since I am 10 minutes from the Jardin, central plaza area in the Historic District. Easy walk to San Juan de Dios Mercado and also Mercado Sano with organic food. There are many great restaurants within walking distance - Italian, Thai, Mexican, etc. If you are driving, you can park on the street or in a nearby pension/car park.

There is so much to do and so much to see and enjoy in San Miguel - from art galleries, live music, poetry readings, great restaurants - and just walking around seeing the town. Outside of town: Hot Springs and pyramid sites, horseback riding and hiking! El Charco Botanical Gardens and more!

Please, no additional pets, no small children and no smoking in the house.

Responsibilities

I have one cat, Ginger, who needs to be fed, given some affection, w occasional brushing. There is no litter box to clean, since she goes in a planted area in the patio. She's not vocal and is very easy and sweet. She has a cat door and goes outside to the patio garden to do her business - so no cat litter box.

Water the plants twice per week  - entrance patio, kitchen terrace, and the rooftop terrace.

I have a housecleaner who comes once a week to clean and wash the towels and sheets, etc. I will cover her cost.

Additional Information

San Miguel is a World Heritage Site, voted the Best City in the World by Travel & Leisure Magazine! Its a great walking city with beautiful architecture. The center of the city focuses on the Jardin (garden park) which fronts the main church called the Parroquia. Restaurants and shops can be found throughout the centro area. Beautiful Mexican crafts can be found in the Mercado and in shops along the way.

My neighborhood, Colonia San Antonio, is close to the beautiful city center but without all the noise. It is a safe and family-oriented neighborhood. It is a quick walk to the Centro Jardin area, to the Mercado, and to the Ancha, a main street with restaurants and shopping.  It's a great location!
