Poor Dolly can't come to the US with us for Christmas because the new screwworm regulations have just made it too darn complicated! She needs someone to bring her holiday cheer through walks, cuddles, and quality time over the Christmas and New Year's holidays.
Poor Dolly can't come to the US with us for Christmas because the new screwworm regulations have just made it too darn complicated! She needs someone to bring her holiday cheer through walks, cuddles, and quality time over the Christmas and New Year's holidays.
This posting is for dogsitting in beautiful San Miguel de Allende during this most joyful time of year, from December 20th to January 3rd.The house: A beautiful condo in a gated community with a chef's kitchen and breathtaking terrace. You'll have access to a pool and gym. We are about an 8-minute drive from Centro (45 minutes walking) and a 15-minute walk to La Comer grocery store. The bus stop is about a 5-minute walk from my development.
Beds: You get my guest room with a comfortable queen-sized bed and a paddle fan.
Shower: You'll have a clean bathroom and shower to use.
Kitchen: Recently remodeled, the kitchen is frickin' amazing with purified water, air-fry oven, induction stove, microwave, ice maker (yes!), dishwasher, and other amenities. This is my baby - please take good care of it!
Washer/dryer: yes!
Wifi: Solid (ok for WFH/video meetings).
Gym and pool: Included.
The dog: Dolly is a super sweet, playful, easy-peasy Boston terrier. She can be left alone for up to 5 hours at a time. You'll feed her twice a day, walk her three or four times a day (nothing crazy; around the neighborhood is fine), give her a few treats, throw a toy once in a while, and let her sit on your lap. She doesn't have issues with noises or anything, so you don't need to worry about her stressing out during fireworks.
You: Tidy housesitter and experienced dog sitter with solid references, genuine love of pets, and a desire to enjoy - and care for - our beautiful home.
Cleaning: My housekeeper and gardener come twice a week, and we keep the house very clean at all times. They will let themselves in and do their work.

Responsibilities
As our house sitter, you'll need to walk Dolly 4 times a day. A few quick spins around the neighborhood and one longer walk down to the end of our colonia (neighborhood) would be great. You'll feed her twice a day, and in the evenings, you'll toss her toys around the house for her to chase. You'll also have to let her cuddle with you. She sleeps in a crate, so you won't get pushed out of bed at night. ;)Please refill the hummingbird feeder as needed.
IMPORTANT! We expect you'll take care of our things and keep the place in good working order. For example, please put kitchen things back where you found them. If you use the last of a condiment, replace it. If there's something we should know (like a leak!), please tell us immediately.
Communication: It would be great if you could periodically send some photos of Dolly having a good time with you!

San Miguel de Allende is a World Heritage Site and Conde Nast's #1 tourist destination for more than a decade. We do not live in the touristy part of town, but you can still enjoy all the nearby activities.
