June 28 – July 25 in Scenic Old Town Puerto Vallarta – No Pets

Puerto Vallarta, Jal, Mexico

I'm an American and my husband is Mexican. We were high school sweethearts and recently came back together after many decades of being apart. We're both semi-retired and travel a lot for both business and pleasure. I still own a home in California and brought my sweet, tiny, senior kitty to live here in Puerto Vallarta with us. But sadly, she passed away last spring. So, we are without pets at this time but have lots of beautiful plants to take care of.

We live on the second floor (walk up) in a flat in one of the most scenic neighborhoods in old town Puerto Vallarta. We are 3 blocks to the Malecon (board walk) and 2 blocks from public transport. We live on a hill with cobblestone streets and many stairs, so good mobility and sturdy shoes are a must. Every evening there is a new and unique sunset.

We don't have a car and haven't found a need for one.  We don't have access to the garage in our building, so if you drive, you'd need to find street parking.  We haven't found a need for a car.  We walk or take Ubers.  Ubers are very reasonable and there's also DiDi and InDrive, other ride sharing services.

I work from home, so high-speed, reliable internet is a must and the internet hasn't failed me.

I'm an avid cook, so even though our kitchen is small, we a lot of great features.  We have a stove, a nice air fryer/countertop oven, a dishwasher, ice maker, blender, instant pot.

We have a weekly house cleaning service. Mari and Maria usually come on Thursday.   We will make arrangements to have their fee transferred to them while we are away.  If you would prefer them not to come, please let me know and we will let them know.

I would need to meet one or two days prior to 6/28 in order give you a run down on watering the plants, as our flight departs at 6am on Sunday.  We don't have space for the sitter to stay while we are there, so you would need to secure your own lodging for the day or two prior.

Responsibilities

  • Water plants every other day (unless there have been significant storms)

  • Make sure the 3 hummingbird feeders are clean and have nectar

    • Make nectar if they run out (4 cups water, 1 cup white sugar, boiled together until sugar dissolves, then cool.
