Centrally Located in Ajijic w/ 1 Small Hypoallergenic Adorable Dog
Ajijic, Jal, Mexico
Hola from Ajijic!
I’m looking for a SINGLE dog sitter from May 4-20, 2026. Be sure to see the reviews I've received from previous sitters. (Just scroll toward the bottom.)
My casa is nestled in a beautiful, secure, 5-acre complex, featuring acres of green lawns, huge old trees, abundant flowers and plants, and a view of Lake Chapala, the largest lake in Mexico. It is conveniently located in central Ajijic and is handy to everything, but surprisingly quiet behind our high walls. My guest room has a single bed, desk and chair, and plenty of closet space. My neighbors are friendly and helpful, and they all know and love my sweet doggie.
Within easy walking distance you can find grocery stores, a gym, movie theater, restaurants (some with live entertainment), doctors, dentists, pharmacies, and everything else you might need. A bus runs by just 2 blocks away, every 15-20 minutes or so, for 10-12 pesos (about 70 cents/US). For taxis to specific locations, I have used the same reliable taxi service for several years. Fares are usually in the range of $100-130 pesos (about $6-7 US). My home has reliable WiFi, and Amazon Fire TV.
I have several potted plants that will need watering every couple days; other than that, there's not much else that needs doing. The maid comes every Wednesday morning from 9-11, which is a good time to take Melly out for some sight-seeing, or just take your book or tablet to a shady spot near the lake, or on the property.

Responsibilities
My doggie companion is a 15-pound Poodle-mix named Melly, short for Carmelita (her rescue organization name). She’s about 6 years old and very smart. She loves attention but doesn’t require entertaining, just as long as there is room for her to sit where she can see you. She can be off-leash (with supervision) within the grassy, tree-lined complex where we live. I take her outside the complex as often as I can (which she loves),for a change of surroundings, but she is still learning how to relate to dogs she sees on the street, so I don't take her to places, like restaurants, where she might encounter other dogs for more than a few minutes. Of course, she's always on a leash. I must request that you not leave Melly home alone for more than 2 hours. She has a problem with incontinence and has been known to pee on the sofa. I let her out in the yard, or take her for a walk every 2-3 hours.I have several potted plants that will need watering every couple days; other than that, there's not much else that needs doing. The maid comes every Wednesday morning from 9-11, which is a good time to take Melly out for some sight-seeing, or just take your book or tablet to a shady spot near the lake, or on the property.
